Acer Laptop Purchases To Include 2 GB Of Free Internet Storage

Acer has announced that as part of its association with internet storage provider Vaulten that 2 GB of cloud storage space would be made available completely free to customers who buy laptops from Acer’s Veriton, TravelMate, Gateway or Aspire series. Users who need more room will also be given the opportunity to acquire up to 1 TB of storage with a paid subscription.

Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer of Acer India. “Transforming the way computing is managed and delivered, we are confident that this will be a strategic differentiator for Acer in the long term. Through our association with Vaulten, we are confident of offering tremendous value-add to our consumers whose biggest fear is efficient data storage and security.”

“In the last couple of years, we have witnessed an accelerated demand for quick secure access to data anywhere and anytime,” said Anil Matthews, Vaulten’s Vice President of Partnerships. “We are confident that this trend will increase the demand and requirement of cloud services. Acer consumers can now enjoy and experience Vaulten’s next generation online backup facility.”

This newly-brokered deal heralds a new dawn for cloud storage, as just before this announcement, the practice of offering free internet storage space with the purchase of a smartphone had become widespread in the communications industry.
