The name of the restaurant certainly won’t give you an idea that it serves mouthwatering seafood. Yet Son of a Gun has established a good reputation in DTLA for having one of the best seafood selections in all of LA.
Seafood, seafood, and more seafood! Arguably the most popular item on the menu is the lobster roll priced at $10. It is toasted, with a buttery and crispy feel outside, and soft on the inside. While it can be tricky to eat it at first, you can’t deny that it is one of the tastiest seafood you’d ever tasted.
Then try the shrimp toast, with its outstanding combination of mint, hoisin sauce, and cilantro satisfying your taste buds. Follow it up with linguine and clams, and you will be impressed with its flavor and the firm noodles.
You can also settle for sandwiches if you aren’t that full. Check out the shrimp toast sandwich which has a very savory taste, or the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken here is crispy and delicious.
Other best-sellers include lemon fish poke, mahi mahi dip, hamachi, and crispy Brussel sprouts.
Be warned that the restaurant can get crowded quickly so be there early.
