Sqirl opened its doors in late 2012, and since then, it’s been followed loyally by a crowd of regulars who are just in love with everything about Sqirl. Best described as hip, trendy “soul food”, Sqirl delightfully recreats classic dishes, and innovates unique comforting plates of glorious food. Owned by Chef Jessica Koslow, her dishes are very thoughtfully created and even described by a lot of critics as forward thinking.
This is a great place to do brunch if you’d like a place that veers away from your traditional eggs benedict and waffles place. Needless today, I can assure you that you will have a memorable brunch at Sqirl. The Famous Damus is among their crowd-pleasing breakfast sandwich that features Surryano Ham, arugula, and scrambled egg on a beautiful ciabatta loaf. The Crispy Rice Salad is a flavorful rice dish with incredible textures that combine crispy, firm, and soft. For a simpler meal, the avocado on toast is delectable—you wouldn’t imagine this combination as one to be very palatable and refreshing to the palate. There’s so much to love about Sqirl—everything looks fresh, healthy, and even though they do serve dishes with sinful ingredients such as bacon, this place is also friendly to vegans and vegetarians.
